...my treasures do not sparkle they clink,
they shine in the sun and neigh in the night...

Arturo is a small pony who arrived here in August 2009 along with the mares Ambra and Brica, after all three were legally seized due to mistreatment. The poor animals had been kept inside a very small pen, with insufficient food and water, and without any shade from the sun. Upon his arrival here, Arturo was very diffident and it took us a lot of time to win his trust. Now he’s one of the most sociable and sweet natured animals at our rescue centre. When he sees a person near his paddock, he immediately comes up, looking for pats or some scratches. Unfortunately, our little pony suffers from a chronic and incurable asthma, so he needs daily medication in order to help him to breathe a bit better.
However, despite his sad past and his illness, Arturo leads a happy life, cared for by IHP volunteers and spoiled by visiting children.
