If you love horses, have a genuine concern for their welfare, and a willingness to devote time, attention, & physical strength to helping the IHP association, this place is for you. Pack a loving heart, hiking boots, a pair of gloves and enjoy a memorable volunteer experience. 
I travelled to Italy from Canada, where I reside, and I participated for a period of 3 weeks on this vast & spectacular mountainous region of Tuscany. 
I unequivocally had the best experience of my life. Connecting with the horses has left me with the an even deeper love for these beautiful and intelligent creatures. Unfortunately, most of the horses had been either exploited for monetary gains, or neglected in conjunction to being malnourished. IHP gives them a second chance to living their life freely on the premises.  
The accommodations for the volunteers are more than just satisfactory.  A++
