...my treasures do not sparkle they clink,
they shine in the sun and neigh in the night...

CLAUDIA, Cologne (Germany) – 16th June 2013

It was definitely a positive experience for me to work as a volunteer with IHP.
In the past I’ve had the chance to work there twice. To see how well the horses are living there is very special: on one hand as free as possible in the middle of the beautiful nature of Tuscany, on the other hand with the best possible care and medical treatment.
Apart from this it is nice to see and experience the love, passion, and commitment the IHP has for improving the lives of mistreated animals.
Both the people you meet there and the horses are friendly and open-minded.
You can see and feel that the horses are really satisfied there.
Admittedly, the work can sometimes be quite hard, which means that you have to be physically fit and good at walking up and down the Tuscan hills during the daily horse care. But then again you will be rewarded with an exciting and never boring workday. Flexibility and teamwork are very important for the job.
I got to know many new things and learned a lot. Over all – my time at IHP was really enriching and I am looking forward to going there again.
