My name is Anissja, I’m from Switzerland, and I volunteered at IHP in April 2026.
I came here as a volunteer and left with something I can’t quite put into words.
This place isn’t about comfort or easy days. It’s hard work, early mornings, and getting your hands dirty. But that’s exactly where something real begins. In the heart of unspoilt Tuscany, surrounded by nature, you start to slow down, breathe more deeply, and reconnect with yourself, and with what truly matters.
Working with the horses changed me the most. These animals carry stories of pain, neglect, and loss. And yet, in their natural environment, you witness something incredible: healing. Not forced, not rushed – just honest, quiet recovery. You don’t just ‘work with horses’ here: you learn to understand them, respect them, and see them for what they truly are.
And somehow, whilst helping them, you also begin to heal parts of yourself.
This experience isn’t always easy, but it’s real, grounding, and deeply rewarding. If you’re looking for something meaningful, something that challenges you and gives back in ways you wouldn’t expect, come here.
Give your time. Give your energy. You’ll receive something much deeper in return.
I highly recommend it!
