...my treasures do not sparkle they clink,
they shine in the sun and neigh in the night...

MUTHU - September 2022

Like all volunteers, I was very lucky to meet IHP. The first time I entered in the volunteer house I felt comfortable even with people I didn't even know. I felt good. In the launch time we all started talking together about our passions and how we related to the horse world. Then, together with the girls, I started my first routine and there I met Sonny who directed us and explained how to organise ourselves. When we finished I was tired, but not that tired.... The next morning, I woke up, looked at my alarm clock and got ready - I was excited for my first day! The first tasks were to help prepare the mash and take it to the older horses: within a week I was able to prepare it myself, check on the horses and many other things. And I took a lot of photos, photos that will remain etched in my mind and heart. The second week was beautiful, although I was already feeling the pangs for when I would leave: these two weeks passed too quickly! On the last day I woke up thinking about when I would return and if the horses would recognise me...with sadness I looked at them and took the last photos, and with great confidence I said to myself: 'You will be back soon!

But my mind was also asking questions like 'why do you like it here so much? What does this place convey to you?"

I am still searching for the answers, and I will only find them by being amidst the neighing of the horses and their gentle galloping in the background.

I will be back soon IHP!!!
