Newborn foal found on a cliff, now at IHP Rescue Centre
11/07/2018 - About ten days ago two young hikers, Irene Mascagni and Teodoro Lanucara, came across a foal just a few days old, helplessly entangled in undergrowth on a cliff. The mother had presumably abandoned her foal once she realised the impossibility of reaching her.

07/07/2018 - The Municipal Administration of Casole d’Elsa, a town about 40 km from Siena, has decided to cancel the palio (folkloristic horse race) scheduled for tomorrow, following the death of the horse Savage for a serious accident during the qualifications. The decision to cancel the race is a sign of great embarrassment.

Goodbye Evelina
07/07/2018 - Evelina, our Highlander, the Doyenne of the Rescue Centre, has bidden us farewell at the end of her very long life. Long before IHP came into being, she had been rescued by the Fondazione Flaminia da Filicaja at the end of the ‘90s. Having traveled from Argentina, along with the other horses in her group, she found freedom instead of slaughter.

16/05/2018 - Cavalla vagante ritrovata il 12/10/2017 a Calenzano: IHP deposita un esposto contro il Comune per mancata ottemperanza degli obblighi di legge A distanza di ben 7 mesi dal ritrovamento di una cavalla ferita segnalata da alcuni cittadini, nonostante innumerevoli istanze e solleciti e perfino un passaggio formale dell’Asl, il Sindaco di Calenzano si rifiuta di assumersi le responsabilità che la legge gli attribuisce, causando enormi disagi a chi fino ad oggi ha provveduto a proprie spese al recupero e alle cure di un animale che sarebbe andato incontro a morte certa.
