06/06/2022 - Bad news from Iceland: the working group established by the Icelandic Agriculture Minister Svandís Svavarsdóttir published its report with recommendations. On the basis of this report, the Minister decided to issue a regulation on PMSG production, which will stipulate what conditions the activity must meet and that the activity is subject to a license. Under these conditions, blood farming is allowed to continue for another three years but will be under increased monitoring. After this period, the authorities will take a final decision about the future of the activity.

Death of IHP horses at Volterra, the Association objects to the archiving of the case.
31/05/2022 - IHP, through its attorneys, filed a motion to oppose the request to dismiss the investigation into the death of 19 horses made by the Pisa Public Prosecutor's Office. Between January 2019 and for the following two years at the Tenuta di Tignano, near Volterra, where the association had just moved at the time, a case occurred that has never been equalled in Italy and perhaps in the world: 19 horses, in good health, died suddenly and in the space of a few minutes, after collapsing while they were grazing.

IHP writes to the Italian Government: stop importation of PMSG immediately
18/05/2022 - IHP has written to the Italian Ministry of Health and Agriculture, asking that Italy anticipate a proposed ban at the EU level, by immediately halting the importation and the use of PMSG (Equine Serum Gonadotropin), a hormone utilized in the production of drugs used in the intensive pig and beef farming sector.
