Sequestration in the province of Siena
Return to the list
25/05/2010
(May 24, 2010)
A sequestration of a large group of horses coming from the province of Siena is currently underway - led by the Carabinieri operating on order of the federal prosecutor’s office. The sequestrated animals come from a former standardbred breeding farm, whose owner can no longer afford to pay for hay, water and electricity. The horses, including several foals as well as a couple of stallions, have not been regularly fed and watered for several days, so that in search for food they have broken through their fences. The situation has degenerated so this sequestration has become an urgent matter. Last night 11 horses arrived at our Rescue centre: 9 mares and 2 stallions. Today we will try to get the remaining horses, all foals, who have escaped their paddocks. We will keep you updated on the new arrivals. In the meantime, we ask you to spread the word, as we are in urgent need of support.
Donate now for the horses confiscated from Siena!
