Bianchina adopted: our volunteers’ goodbye!

31/01/2015

(31 January 2015)

And now Bianchina has found a new home too! Legally seized four years ago on grounds of mistreatment, and still bearing the signs of the abuse she has suffered, she has spent four years with us at the Rescue Centre, lovingly cared for by our volunteers. Important care because she is missing a part of her left eyelid, and needs daily medication with protective drops, and wears a flymask during the day.
Bianchina has been adopted by the "Battito Animale" association, in the province of Lucca, which takes care of badly kept and cruelly treated animals.

Today is a special day for us, as you can imagine: a horse we saved from mistreatment, brought back to health and to a natural lifestyle leaves us for a new home, where she will find new friends both human and equine.
Some of our volunteers have written a special farewell for her, published here.

Goodbye Bianchina… a special farewell from some of our volunteers!

SERENA “A happy goodbye, knowing that a very wonderful and special life is waiting for you. Thank you for having given me your true self, for having amazed me with your unconditional trust in humankind, despite your experiences, showing how animals are capable of not having hard feelings but affection for us. With a heart full of joy I wish you a wonderful life and all the love you deserve.”

ALESSIA: ”Beautiful!! My hope is that this new adventure will bring you the same love you found at IHP after your sad past. When you save a life, you tell a story, the ‘before’, the ‘during’ and the ‘after’, the story of the changes, of new trust, of going back to being one’s own self. Have a great life, Bianchina.”

AGNESE: “HAVE A GREAT LIFE, BIANCHINA! I am so happy to see her go to a place where she will be loved and to know that she will leave a place for new friends, still to be found and helped.”

IRENE: “The best Christmas gift this year? Bianchina has found a family! You arrived in 2011 in a very bad condition; I have seen you come back to life and very slowly regain trust in us humans… now you will at last have a family that will look after you. I am proud of the results of our commitment. Hurray for IHP, hurray for Bianchina!”

STEFANIA: “Hi Sonny, oh yes, I certainly know something about departures :))))) Do you remember the day Mistral left with me? I know how difficult it can be for you to let go of one of your horses when you have been looking after him and loved him every day he has been with you. I was there when you asked me to close the door of the van and leave immediately because it was too painful for you to see Mistral going. Three years have gone by and now Mistral is a big five-year-old, but I am sure that he would recognize you and Irene immediately because he has not forgotten all the love and care he had received from you. I will never stop thanking IHP for the best gift I ever received, sharing my live with an extraordinary horse. A big hug and best wishes.”
