Quitz
Return to the list
05/05/2010
(May 5, 2010)
This morning Quitz – our dear guest since 2004 – died. Born in 1985, he has spent the past six years living free at Filicaja, for his owner decided to give him a better, dignified life. Two days ago Quitz started showing colic symptoms. Immediately treated here at Filicaja, he was then transferred to one of the clinics that work with us. He was put in intensive care after surgery was ruled out due to his advanced age. Unfortunately, not even these intensive therapies have been able to improve the situation, so this morning it has been made the decision to euthanize the horse to spare him useless suffering. We offer our condolences to his owner - who loved him so dearly - and we give our thanks to our medical staff, especially to Dr. Iacopo Secco, Dr. Paolo Cevese and Dr. Stefano Tani for their efforts to try and save Quitz’s life. His joyfulness will always be remembered in our hearts.
