Willingness to welcome or find accomodation for equidae - horses, donkeys, mules, zebras - from Ukraine, where the conflict with Russia is underway, in order to open “corridors” also for this type of animal.  This is the request of the animal welfare organizations ENPA, IHP, Il rifugio degli asinelli, LAV, Progetto Islander and La rete dei santuari di animali liberi in Italia, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and to the Ministry of Health.  

"We ask you to put forward this possibility to your institutional interlocutors in Ukraine - reads the letter sent to the two Ministries. Considering that the director of the DG Santé of the European Commission, Bernard Van Goethem, has already allowed the facilitated entry of pets accompanying Ukrainian refugees for extraordinary humanitarian reasons, we have formulated the request that the temporary entry of equidae be allowed, with the indication of the host and with the guarantee, by the associations, of the performance of the necessary health checks upon arrival of the animals at the host stable".  

The letter is signed by Carla Rocchi (ENPA President), Sonny Richichi (IHP President), Daniela Marzari (Director of Il rifugio degli asinelli), Nadia Zurlo (head of the LAV equidae area), Nicole Berlusconi (President of the Islander project) eand Dunia Azzabi (coordinator of La rete dei santuari di animali liberi in Italia).
