 Horses are animals that adapt to extreme climatic variations and easily tolerate even low temperatures, thanks to their metabolism and the ability to produce internal heat. But for this it is essential for them to have access to hay 24 hours a day; moreover, the elderly or those with specific problems need an integration with foods that are more easily chewed and digestible.

What are the costs for food at the IHP Rescue Center?
A hay bale costs 35 euros and we consume more than 2 per day.
100 kg. hay pellets cost 31 euros and we consume more than 50 kg. per day.
100 kg. crock hay cost 40 euros and we consume about 15 kg. per day.
100 kg. beet pulp cost 48 euros and we consume about 13 kg. per day.
100 kg. mixed flakes cost 50 euros and we consume more than 13 kg. per day.

… and to pay for all of this we can only rely on donations: IHP does not receive government grants or reimbursements, although it manages horses seized for mistreatment.
