‘The light of the soul’ is the title of the new IHP calendar: the photographer Marco Maroccolo, in this work, has captured the light to give back to the viewer the purity of the soul of these animals: all the protagonists are guests of the IHP rescue centre in Montaione, all rescued from mistreatment or slaughter.

Giving this calendar as a gift also means giving concrete help for the protection of horses. For over 15 years, IHP has been working nationwide against all forms of exploitation, abuse and mistreatment of horses and other equids.

IHP also runs the first rescue centre in Italy for equines seized for mistreatment, for which it receives neither public subsidies nor reimbursement from the Public Prosecutor's Offices. All activities, including investigations, legal fees and the very costly running of the rescue centre, are financed by donations from private citizens.
