Costanza
Return to the list
Costanza was found on the morning of 28 January 2013 during the first phase of the Colleferro rescue operation, together with 200 other equines. She was trapped in the mud, too weak to pull herself to her feet. She was immediately taken to the Perugia clinic intensive care unit, where she got through the critical phase and survived. She was released from there on 9 March 2013 and came to our rescue centre in Montaione, where today she lives in freedom with other horses and where she has come to trust humans. She is for us an every day reminder of the dramatic scenes of the Colleferro rescue and the suffering we witnessed, and at the same time she symbolises our determination to carry on our work, with the same life-force which that little foal showed.
