This lovely TB showed evidence of the harsh use he has been put to, with a fore and hind leg both swollen, scars all over his body, firing scars, shockingly emaciated. Moved with difficulty due to pain. Worse still, scars on his gums indicated use of a particularly savage form of ‘bitting’, meaning a chain which passes across the gums and is fitted then to the bridle (
see photo gallery
). Now he looks like reborn, and considering the torture he has suffered it is astonishing to see the trust and gentleness he exhibits.
