...my treasures do not sparkle they clink,
they shine in the sun and neigh in the night...

LOUISIANE

At the time of her confiscation Louisiane was skinny, withskin abrasions and insect bite marks, even with a bad dermatitis. Soon after a few weeks of care and attention she seems like sheis reborn, gaining weight and also showing a very sociable character with her companions and with the humans who have taken care of her, restoring her dignity and giving her a new life,to befinally serene and without suffering any exploitation.

Lousiane is one of the four mares saved at the time of deathfrom slaughter in September 2020. Coming from France, where they were first used on the racecourse and then used as broodmares for many years, they were transported to Italy with falsified passports. After two changes of ownership, they were declaredas slaughter animals at  the Italian registry and taken to the slaughterhouse in Correggio (RE). After the confiscation of the NAS we were able to getthe horsesinto custody, saving them from slaughter.
