...my treasures do not sparkle they clink,
they shine in the sun and neigh in the night...

This beautiful English Thoroughbred, who arrived in January 2013, showed evidence of the harsh use he has been put to, with a fore and hind leg both swollen, scars all over his body, firing scars, shockingly emaciated. Moved with difficulty due to pain. Worse still, scars on his gums indicated use of a particularly savage form of ‘bitting’, meaning a chain which passes across the gums and is fitted then to the bridle (see photo gallery). Now he looks like reborn, and considering the torture he has suffered it is astonishing to see the trust and gentleness he exhibits.
