Libero
Return to the list
Libero (“Free”) was born on 16th March 2011, at our rescue center. His dam, sequestrated due to mistreatment in Southern Italy, had arrived at our estate only a few days before the foaling. Probably due to her debilitation and stress, she hasn’t been able to transmit with her milk enough antibodies to her colt. As result, the baby contracted an infection a few hours after his birth. We had to start therapies when he was just two days old: plasma transfusions, antibiotics and joints’ washing. Fortunately today Libero is fine, he is no longer in danger of life and he can run happy in a large paddock.
