...my treasures do not sparkle they clink,
they shine in the sun and neigh in the night...

Nina has a story so peculiar that it sounds like a fairy tale. At the end of June 2018, a couple of hikers were walking along a trail in a pre-mountainous area in Tuscany, the Calvana, where small groups of wild horses live. Suddenly, they heard noises coming from a small escarpment and discovered a few-day-old filly trapped in the brambles. After freeing her, they searched for her mother, without success. The hours passed and so, after consulting our veterinarian, they brought her down to her, because otherwise she would have died of starvation. After the first treatment and a few days of convalescence, we took her to the rescue centre. As chance would have it, Grifo, the pony blind from birth, also arrived at the same time, together with his mother. Nina and Grifo are the same age: following their growth and friendship day by day has been exciting. She has become a beautiful dark-coated mare, very friendly but also with a good temperament.
