Help for hay purchase

06/06/2011

Last week, as we do every year, we visited some hay suppliers to order the food for our four-legged friends for the next 12 months and to negotiate the prices. Now more than ever we need your help: as you read in our recent news, we aren’t receiving any kind of contribute from the State (even if law 189 of 2009 explicitly provided for it) and we are obliged to cover by ourselves all the expenses for the care and support of the sequestrated animals, without knowing when or if we will receive reimbursements from the Procurators Offices. We have publically denounced this absurd situation, without so far receiving any kind of reply from the Justice and Health Ministries.

Last year (from May 2010 to April 2011) we spent a total of 39.816,40 euro to purchase the hay for the horses we host. It’s a huge figure, to which it must the added the expenses for medicines, veterinaries, feeds, maintenance etc.: a rescue centre like ours has huge expenses, which at the moment we are able to cover mostly thanks to the generosity of private citizens.

As to today, we host 62 equines and 4 bovines, most of them coming from judicial sequestrations: any of your contributes is extremely precious for us to keep on supporting animals rescued from abuse situations, and to rescue more in the future. On our site, on the SUPPORT US page, you will find all the instructions to send us a donation. You can also distance adopt one of the equines rescued by IHP and guarantee him or her a serene, free future.

Also, starting from today, it’s also possible to buy sweatshirts, t-shirts and caps with IHP logo!

Help us by simply spreading words about what we do among your friends: invite them to subscribe to our newsletter or to become a IHP “fan” on our Facebook page. Or hand out our leaflets, such as in veterinary practices, riding centers, or during fairs and events.

For more information about our gadgets and how to order them, or to request free leaflets, write to ihp@horseprotection.it

A heartfelt thank you for all the help you will give us!
