Trequanda sequestration: two more horses adopted!

04/10/2010

(2nd October 2010)
Two more horses among those sequestrated in Trequanda on 24th-25th May have found a new home: Orion and Nangijala have been adopted by Tanja, of whom we have already talked on our site a few days ago, regarding another happy-ending tale.
Tanja is the owner of Quercia, a perfectly healthy mare that for three months risked being put down because of the legislation about the Equine Infectious Anaemia, which, in our opinion, should be radically changed.
Thanks to IHP and to her owner, Quercia will keep on living free in the paddocks here at Filicaja. And when she understood she would have to separate forever from her mare, Tanja decided to do another good action, and adopted Orion and Nangijala. Both of them are in good hands, and their introduction in the new group of equine friends went smoothly. In truth, it couldn’t have been any different since, even if they are very young, they have a nice disposition and have become very sociable in the weeks after the sequestration.
In the meantime, we are working to find new homes for the remaining adult horses and youngsters. Some of them have been already moved to their new families, and soon we’ll publish their photos too.
We still need help: since the first month after the sequestration, we had to face all the expenses for the support and the care of the 21 horses, with huge difficulties. Most of them is still here and we need help to keep on supporting them, to vaccinate them, and to have their passports issued. Even a small donation can be greatly helpful to us!
