Agreement between IHP and Pisa University

02/03/2010

(March 2, 2010)
The School of Veterinary Medicine at Pisa University and IHP have just concluded an agreement to let students conduct equine apprenticeships and orientation training with IHP horses according to the association’s structures.
All the students enrolled on graduate, specialist graduate or postgraduate courses and those who have graduated in the past 18 months can take advantage of it.
For IHP this is a source of great satisfaction, not only because it’s the first official agreement of its kind with an Italian University, but also because it gives us the possibility to speak about horses’ welfare more diffusely and to an insiders’ audience.
Those students who decide to take advantage of the agreement can run their project working with horses living permanently at pasture, which represents a very interesting area of study.
Apprenticeships and orientation trainings are contemplated and disciplined by art.18 of law n.196/1997, by Interministerial Decree n.142/1998 and by Ministerial Decrees n. 509/99 and n.270/04.
Every apprenticeship is conducted as a specific, previously agreed project, with the support of tutors from both the University and IHP.
