Neri
Return to the list
He was just a foal about 1 yera old when he arrived, January 2013; incredibly he had already been shod and forced to run in illegal races, resulting inevitably in damage to his hooves. As if this treatment was not enough, like his other unfortunate companions he had cuts on his gums, indicating use of a particularly savage form of ‘bitting’, meaning a chain which passes across the gums and is fitted then to the bridle (
see photo gallery
). Fortunately he is young and seems to have already forgotten the vile treatment he has known till now at the hands of human beings: he’s very sociable and playful!
