IHP and AISPA together alongside the horse once more

27/02/2015

(27 February 2015)

Over the past few days we have welcomed several AISPA (The Anglo-Italian Society for the Protection of Animals) representatives to the IHP rescue centre. AISPA has sponsored some of our projects for several years now.

The Society’s Secretary, Andy Geddes and Executive Committee member Mrs Pugsley were joined by Dr Malcolm Holliday and Dr Maira Sgueglia, resident AISPA vets in Italy, as well as by development manager Laura Lavorato. They were impressed by improvements at the new rescue centre, made in spite of the grave financial difficulties the recent move to the new premises has incurred, and all thanks to the hard work put in by our staff, volunteers and our steadily increasing number of supporters.

IHP President Sonny Richichi comments: “Both during and after the visit we received many compliments and many encouraging words, which, coming from an association of the stature of AISPA, is strong motivation to keep going, no matter how hard this can often be. Over the past five years we have instituted a number of regular activities and events, reported cases of mistreatment, obtained the legal seizure of many mistreated horses, and established a dialogue with the various authorities: much of this we owe to AISPA, which has believed in us from the start.”
