Kregou Becourt dies during a competition in Rimini, IHP asks for an enquiry. A closely similar case two years ago

The Italian Horse Protection association has written a letter to the FEI, the FISE, the ASL, the IZS and Horses Riviera Resort requesting copies of the documentation relative to the death of the horse Kregou Becort, who collapsed after competing in the 7 August international showjumping competition held at San Giovanni in Marignano (Province of Rimini) equestrian centre.

IHP was prompted to request an official enquiry because of a strange coincidence: two years ago, on 10 July 2012, a horse named Arielle Z died in closely similar circumstances. The mare was ridden by the same rider as Kregou Brecourt, with the same trainer. IHP is therefore requesting that the appropriate authorities open an enquiry to thoroughly investigate the possibility of a direct connection between the two incidents, and into factors and behaviours which might have caused, or contributed to, the death of the two horses.
