A delegation of four students accompanied by two teachers, arriving from the secondary school and the BIC Veterinary School of Ljubljana (a school for veterinary technicians), is at this moment doing a two week internship helping staff to provide therapy for the horses kept at the Montaione rescue centre.

The students were selected as part of the “Leonardo Da Vinci” project financed by the European Union and intended to offer the opportunity to students from various schools to gain practical work experience: their work done at with the Italian Horse Protection association was especially appreciated.

They have been responsible for the management of all of the treatments to be administered, together with their teachers (themselves veterinarians) and under the supervision of Doctor Agnese Santi, IHP’s Healthcare Manager.

“In the last two years we have increased our collaboration with schools and universities, both Italian and foreign and have welcomed many students on internships, not only in a veterinary setting but also to learn natural horsemanship” says Paolo Baragli, IHP’s Scientific Manager. “For us this is clear evidence of the quality of the work that we do to ensure the protection of equines, not only by denunciations but also by spreading knowledge”.
