SOS storm: help us repair the damage at the Rescue Center
Return to the list
15/09/2017
(13 September 2017)
The violent rainstorm of last 10th September has caused many damage to our Rescue Center. As reported by the newspapers, this was an exceptional event, with a water flow that has affected the whole region and unfortunately caused victims in Livorno.
The infirmary, the hay roof, some horse canopies, the office and the volunteer’s apartment were flooded at our Rescue Center.

In particular,
the drainage channels have been clogged at several points
: under these conditions, even light rain would flood the road and the infirmary again.
Moreover,
the road leading to the various paddocks has been broken
into several points by the water, creating dangerous channels that would be further damaged by future rains.
An immediate action is necessary, in order to repair the biggest damages with an excavator and avoid other disasters in the future.
We have to hire an excavator (or call a specialized company) and we ask for your help to pay the expenses, as at this time we cannot afford them.
I know we can count on you
: even a small donation would be valuable to our Rescue Center. IHP does not receive any public support and survives through donations.
In the payment description, please indicate “SOS storm”.

Thank you very much.
